What is included in the cost of skip hire?

The cost of your skip hire includes delivery and collection of the skip and up to 14 days hire. Permits are not included. Please see: “Do I need a permit for more information on permits?”

How long can I keep the skip for?

For up to 14 days. We reserve the right to charge customers £50 per week after 14 days. The maximum rental period with no movement is one month. After this time the skip will be collected.

What can’t you put in to a skip?

You cannot put hazardous items into a skip. These include but are not limited to TVs, computer monitors, asbestos, tyres, fluorescent tubes, fridges and freezers, paint and paint tins (unless empty), batteries, medical waste, gas cylinders, liquids, solvents, oil, petrol, diesel and explosives. Plasterboard is another material that is not allowed in a skip with mixed waste. Plasterboard must be kept separate from other waste, either in its own skip, or in a plasterboard skip bag. If you are unsure, it’s always best to phone us and ask. If you have something that can’t go in a skip, we’ll find you another way to dispose of it.

How do I get a Permit?

We will help you apply for a permit if you need one. Our team will complete the necessary form and send to your local authority on your behalf. However, if you would prefer to do so, you may apply for a permit yourself. Please note, we will need to confirm your permit before delivering your skip.

More information on permits can be found on our Skip Permits page

Permit information

Do I need a Permit?

This depends on where you’re going to place your skip. If it’s going to be placed on private land, you won’t need a permit. But if it needs to be placed on the road then you will need a permit from your local authority.
